Austoberfest ’26 is coming. Prost!
Prepare to swap your everyday clothes for full Tracht, raise a Maß, and get stuck in to a Bavarian Beer Festival at the end of September. If you need an excuse to wear your Lederhosen or a Dirndl with pride, this is it.
The beer has arrived!
The date for this year is 19th September, with people arriving from 12pm, barrel tapping at 1pm and food from 3pm. Food will be a mixture of Schweinhaxe, Hendl and Wurst – if you require something less meaty then let me know ASAP.
I’ve had 5 requests for beds (Mic & Mai, Jon, Andy, Mandy, Pete). Two people have told me they’d prefer the hospitality of Premier Inn, and I assume that everybody else will be taking advantage of public transport.
If you haven’t yet told me then I need to know:
- Are you coming?
- What you like to drink? (presumably German lager unless told otherwise)
- How much you like to drink? (light drinker / moderate / excessive)
- What you like to eat? (Bavarian food is mostly pork based, let me know if alternatives are required and if so, what sort of thing)
- Where you plan to sleep? (lots of beds are available, and we’re a 5 minute walk from 2 different Premier Inns [Wyboston] and [Colmworth] if you like your personal space. If you want a bed then I’m sure we can fit you in somewhere)
- Any special requests?
If you have your own maß glass or other suitable drinking vessel then please bring it – I only have 20 maß glasses and aren’t sure how many people are coming.
