Lessons

  • I was expecting an OG on 1.087 (with 80% mash efficiency). Despite lots of stirring and a 10 minute dough in at 65C I only got 1.069, an efficiency of 60%. disappointing.
  • I think I need to go back to adding the top plate, pressing the grain down and sparging slowly throughout.
